Time With Kindness

This week I met up with an old friend. I actually invited him to spend the week with me. We go way back, and it was nice having him around more. I see him a lot with my family and friends and I was reminded how much I love and appreciate his presence. So this week, I invited him over to spend more intentional time renewing and growing our friendship. It’s been nice.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve had two other old friends stop. Two weeks ago, I enjoyed a visit with Peace. Last week, Compassion was my companion. This week, I welcomed Kindness to be my special guest, and I am so glad I did.

I love my time with Peace. He always has a profound effect on me. Compassion is always welcome too. I enjoy having both of them simply show up and hang out. As it is with friends, we don’t even have to talk much. Just having them around throughout the day is enough.

As I spent time with Kindness, simply knowing he was in the room was enough to affect the way I thought, talked, and acted. The great thing about friends around is that they help us become more self aware without saying a word.

This morning, I invited the three of them to join me at the table. As I look around at them, all I can do is smile. Each one is a treasured friend. Each one warms my heart with their presence. Each one is an important part of my life. I know they have many friends and I see the impact they make on the lives of their friends.

I’ve been thinking about who to invite over this week. I’ve been thinking about who’s friendship will have a positive impact on me. There are so many to choose from, but I want to choose my guests wisely because I know they will have a profound effect on me. And all the while, I fully intend to have these three continue dropping by. It’s good to have good friends.

Enjoy the Time.

Enjoy the Company.

Enjoy the Kindness
